Ars poetica

Landscape is a portrait. It is a self-portrait of the people creating and moulding the landscape. Its transformation throughout history is parallel to the metamorphosis of the human consciousness. Our role is to understand the processes that have created the landscape, the outer effects that have shaped it, and the inner processes that are leading it towards something. People are part of nature, just as landscape is a part of people. Landscape is not just an imprint, not just a reflection, it is an individual with its own fate. Without each other, they cannot be understood and perceived. Our main question is how are they related, and how should this relationship change in the 21st century?
